World Test Championship Final 2023: According to Cricbuzz, The final of the second edition of the ICC World Test Championship is likely to begin on June 7 at The Oval in London, England.
Although the International Cricket Council (ICC) has not yet announced the schedule yet, It is expected to be held from June 7 to 11 and much like the previous edition, the provision of a reserve day will be available.
Currently Australia tops the ICC World Test Championship Points Table, followed by South Africa, and Sri Lanka, while India is in the fourth position after Pakistan’s defeat in the first Test against England.
The World Test Championship is 2021-23, almost at the end and the final is likely to be played after the Indian Premier League (IPL) final, which is likely to take place on May 23 or 24.
Earlier a report said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to start IPL 2023 on either March 31 or April 1. So, the final of the 2nd edition of the WTC will be held after the IPL 2023 final which is expected to end on either May 28 or June 4.
The good thing is that IPL 2023 is going to take place in a home-and-away format and the first match is expected to take place in Ahmedabad, the home ground of the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT).
The men in Blue currently playing a one-day series with Bangladesh in Bangladesh and India are defeated in the first match. India will play two test matches with Bangladesh later this month. And
then India will play a four-match test series with Australia in India.
However, India has to perform well to confirm a ticket for the World Test Championship final.
