Sunrisers Hyderabad sign Vivrant Sharma from mini auction for IPL 2023 for Rs 2.6 crore. But who is Vivrant Sharma? Here is the details all you need to know about SRH’s new signing Vivrant Sharma.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) mini-auction has begun and franchises have built their squads adding players of their choice as they released a bunch of players during players retentions in November.

Like any other franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad have planned and strengthened their squad ahead of the new season with some new faces.

Know about SRH’s new player Vivrant Sharma:

This includes the young Vivrant Sharma, who is set for the Sunrisers outfit ahead of the new season. The Jammu and Kashmir opener entered the auction at Rs 20 lakh and a mini bidding war broke out between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad over Vivrant. Eventually, Hyderabad won the bidding war and acquired Vivrant for 2.6 crores.

The 23-year-old player from J&K has been outstanding for Jammu and Kashmir in domestic matches this year. He helped the side to the Vijay Hazare Trophy knockouts for the first time this year.

Vivrant stroked an unbeaten 154 runs from 124 deliveries which included 18 boundaries and six maximums, as J&K defeated Uttarakhand by nine wickets earlier in November. His impressive outing garnered a lot of attention from the scouts of the IPL franchises ahead of the mini-auction.

Vivrant Sharma joins Sunrisers Hyderabad for IPL 2023:

The 23-year-old batter started playing cricket because of his elder brother Vikrant Sharma, Vikrant used to play club cricket in Jammu. At the age of 12, Vivrant started off batting right-handed but after paying attention to his elder brother who would bat left-handed, he decided to follow him.

The young all-rounder has featured in 9 T20s and has amassed 191 runs at strike rate of 128.18. He has also taken six wickets in his three innings in the shortest format with 4/13 being his best bowling figures.

His last T20 match came against Services in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) as he scored 50 runs from 32 balls which included three sixes and three fours at a stunning strike rate of 156.25. Now, the young lad is set to make his appearance in the cash-rich league for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the franchise will be delighted to have secured his services for the potential he holds.
