After being successful in the IPL for the first few years, the franchise has failed to replicate its success over the past decade. They did not even reach the playoffs in the 2019 and 2020 IPL.
RR returned to the IPL in 2018 after being banned in 2016 and 2017 but their popularity has declined more than before.
The brand value of Rajasthan Royals in 2019 was around INR 271 crore. According to the Duff & Phelps report, in IPL 2020, the brand value of Royals has decreased by 8.1% from 2019. This means that in 2020, the brand value of RR decreased to about INR 241 Crores.
However, it should be kept in mind that the brand value of almost all the teams has decreased as compared to 2019, as the 2019 IPL was played in a spectator-free stadium in the UAE.
