IPL 2023 Auction Updates, Date, Time, Venue, and Players List: It has been quite some time since Gujrat Titans won the 2022 IPL. Now it’s the turn of IPL 2023 for which all the cricket fans are eagerly waiting.
IPL Auction of 2023 is going to start after only a few days of waiting. The IPL 2023 auction will be held on December 23 (Friday) in Kochi. Now all 10 IPL franchises are gearing up to fight for their favorite players during the auction.
Although the IPL 2023 auction will be a mini-auction, around 650 players are expected to go under the hammer. Currently, a total of 991 players have registered themselves for the IPL 2023 auction. However, only a maximum of 87 slots will be selected during the auction.
This year only 10 franchises will participate in the auction. The total salary cap for each franchise for the IPL 2023 auction is Rs. 95 crores. However, each team retained some players in their squad and therefore, used some of their salary caps. With that remaining salary cap, each team will jump into the auction to get their favorite players.

The IPL 2023 auction is scheduled to be held on December 23, 2022 (Friday). The venue of the event is fixed in Kochi, Kerala. The auction will start at 11 am IST.

Every team has a total salary cap of Rs. 95 crores for the IPL auction 2023. Sunrisers Hyderabad has the maximum salary cap available at Rs. 42.25 crores. Kolkata Knight Riders have the least salary cap available at Rs. 7.05 crores. During the retentions, the 10 teams retained 163 players in their squad. Now, there are 87 slots available overall during IPL 2023 auction.

Registered Players List For IPL 2023 Auction With Base Price:
A total of 991 players (714 Indians and 277 foreigners) are part of the preliminary long list that the IPL shared with 10 franchises on Thursday. The IPL will narrow it down based on input from the franchises, who have until December 9 to get back to the tournament authorities.
A maximum of 87 players can be bought in the auction (each squad has 25 players) of which 30 can be foreign names. The auction is scheduled to be held in Kochi on December 23.
