IPL 2022: Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has picked his best XI for the recently concluded IPL 2022 season. In a conversation with Sportskeeda, the former cricketer named his dream team for the IPL season which ended last week.
The 15th season of the Indian Premier League has just ended. The debutant Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals in the final to win the tournament.
Like other cricketers, Harbhajan Singh has also picked the best team of the season. His dream team consists of six Indian and five foreign cricketers.
Harbhajan picked Hardik Pandya as the captain of his team:
Harbhajan has chosen Hardik Pandya as the captain of his team. This all-rounder has led the Gujarat Titans from the front. In fifteen matches, Hardick has scored 487 runs at an average of 44.27, including four half-centuries.
Harbhajan has Jos Butler and KL Rahul as openers in his squad. The pair were the top two run-getter in the edition. Jos Butler was the season’s highest run-getter with 863 runs and KL Rahul was second with 618 runs.
He is followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Rahul Tripathi and Punjab Kings’ Liam Livingstone for the third and fourth positions respectively. Tripathi scored 413 runs in 14 matches and Livingstone scored 437 runs at a strike rate of 182.08.
In the middle order, Harbhajan has picked wicket-keepers Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, and Andre Russell. Karthik was a key finisher for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and scored 330 runs at a strike rate of 183.33. Russell, on the other hand, took 17 wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and contributed 335 runs in 14 matches.
Harbhajan has picked Umran Malik (22 wickets in 14 matches) and Josh Hazlewood (20 wickets in 12 matches) as his two pacers. Also on his dream team are two leg-spinners, Rashid Khan (19 for 16) and Yuzbendra Chahal (27 for 17).
