India Overtook Pakistan in The ODI Rankings by Defeating England

After a stunning victory in the first match of the three-match series against England at the Oval, India has moved up to third place in the ICC ODI rankings ahead of Pakistan.

Before the ENG vs IND 1st ODI match, India was fourth with 105 points in the ICC ODI rankings but now India moved to third in the ICC ODI Rankings after their comprehensive 10-wicket win over England.

India is currently third in the ICC Men’s ODI rankings with 108 points and Pakistan is fourth with 106 points. New Zealand tops the table with 126 rating points, while England is in second place with 122 points.

Last month, Pakistan had pushed India down to the No. 4 spot in the rankings after a clean sweep over the West Indies. However, their position at No. 3 was a brief one, India was able to retain the place again.

India Won The First Match of 3 Match ODI Series Against England:

In the first match of the three-match ODI series between England and India, India defeated England by 10 wickets. Batting first, England managed just 110 for 10 at the end of 25.2 overs. In reply, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan put on a great partnership to achieve the target without losing a wicket in 18.4 overs.

England was forced to concede defeat in front of Bumrah’s bowling that day. Bumrah took 6 wickets for 19 runs off 7.2 overs. Mohammad Shami also took 3 wickets and Prasidh Krishna 1 wicket. On the Other hand, Indian Captain Rohit Sharma scored 78 runs in 58 balls.

As a result of this remarkable win over England, India is able to rise to the third position in the ICC ODI Rankings again.

However, with India winning the remaining two ODIs against England and a three-match series against the West Indies this month, India can extend their lead further before Pakistan play ODIs next.
