International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the World Test Championship Prize Money some days ago. ICC World Test Championship is going on for about 2 years. 9 international cricket teams were taking part in this tournament. The teams are India, Pakistan, Australia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, England, West Indies, South Africa and New Zealand.
The participants reached the final among the 9 teams are India and New Zealand. In the 4th Test against England, India reached the top of the World Test Championship points table by defeating England 3-1. The final match between the two teams has started on 18 Jun in Southampton, England.
ICC World Test Championship Prize Money:
The ICC has announced the World Test Championship Prize Money. The winner of the World Test Championship (WTC) between India and New Zealand will get $ 1.6 million (Which is about 12 crore Indian rupees) along with the ICC Test Championship Mace.
The losing team will receive $ 800,000 (which is approx 6 crore in Indian rupees) for finishing second among the nine teams.
The prize money for third place at the ICC World Test Championship is $ 450,000 (which is approx 3.35 crore in Indian rupees).
And the fourth team in the points table of the ICC World Test Championship will be awarded $ 35,000 (which is approx 2.6 crores in Indian rupees).
The fifth team in the points table will receive $200,000 (which is approx 1.5 crores in Indian rupees) and the other four teams will each receive $ 100,000 (which is approx 75 lakh)

The trophy of the word test championship designed by English luxury brand Thomas Light, The mace is built around the global nature of Test cricket and competing countries.
The centre of the trophy is the cricket ball as it is the main core of the game whether it is bowling, hitting or fielding. Surrounding the ball refers to the global reach of test cricket and the silver-gilt cricket ball can be seen on the map through the ocean.
What happens if the final match of the WTC is drawn?
“The Test Mace, previously given to teams topping the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings will now be given to the WTC winners. In case the final ends in a draw or a tie, the finalists will split the prize money for the first and second places and share possession of the Mace during the time they remain champions.” ICC announced.
This means that if the final match is drawn, the winner and the prize money of the 1st runner-up will be shared equally between India and New Zealand.
In that case, India and New Zealand will each get approximately rupees 9 crores. And the trophy will be shared by both teams while they are champions until a new champion is found at the end of the next WTC final.
