IND vs WI 3rd ODI Highlights
IND vs WI 3rd ODI Highlights

IND vs WI 3rd ODI Highlights: The last time India whitewashed the Caribbean in ODIs was in West Indies in 1983. Kapil Dev was the captain of India at that time. Then 39 years passed in between. The water of the river has flowed far.

Shikhar Dhawan and Company finally repeated that history. Team India whitewashed the Caribbean once again in one-day cricket on West Indies soil. India won by 119 runs on the Duckworth-Louis method. They snatched the current one-day series by 3-0.

Led by Shikhar Dhawan, Team India won the first two matches and took a 2-0 lead. The third one day match was played on Wednesday. India scored 225 runs in 36 overs losing three wickets in this match.

After that, the game had to be stopped for a long time due to rain. Finally India’s innings is declared over. Then the target of 257 runs in 35 overs was given in front of the Windies in the Duckworth-Louis method. It is also said that maximum five Indian bowlers can bowl in 7 overs.

But the sad thing is that Shubman Gill remained unbeaten with 98 runs. And if only a few matches were played, he could have scored the first hundred in his one-day cricket career. Besides Shikhar Dhawan 58 and Shreyas Iyer gave a fast innings of 44 runs.

It was already feared that this target is going to be a mountain for West Indies. But, Mohammed Siraj set the tone of victory for India from the beginning.

The Indian cricket team picked up a pair of successes in the second over. Siraj bowled Kyle Myers on the first ball. A ball later Shamrah Brooks was also dismissed LBW and returned to the pavilion.

West Indies score 0 runs for two wickets in 1.3 overs. It was hoped that Shai Hope might show some glimmer of hope. But he also got stumped while going for the big shot in Yuzvendra Chahal’s bowl. At the end of 10 overs, Windies’ score stood at 48 runs for three wickets.

West Indies’ fourth wicket has fallen. Brendan King was bowled after scoring 42 runs. Akshar Patel took his wicket.

Then came the fifth blow to the West Indies cricket team when Keacy Carty was bowled by Shardul Thakur. Carty could only score 5 runs in 17 balls.

Windies score 114 runs at the end of 20 overs. India’s bowlers made the biggest breakthrough. Nicholas Pooran returned after being out. He returned with a catch in the hands of Shikhar Dhawan off Prasiddha Krishna. Puran scored 42 runs off 32 balls. He hit five boundaries and a six in his innings.

The rest could not stand infront of the power of the Indian bowlers. Finally, West Indies were all out for 137 runs in 26 overs.
