BCCI Central Contract List 2022: India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara and former Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane have been dropped from the BCCI Annual Contract List 2022, which was approved by the board’s Apex Council on Wednesday. Pujara and Rahane have been demoted from A category (₹ 5 crores) to B category (₹ 3 crores).
Also Fast bowler Ishant Sharma has been demoted from A category to B category. This is because Ishant’s future with the Indian team has been uncertain for the last year and he has been out of the team at various times due to injury or poor form.
On the other hand, The biggest demotion, however, is the injury-stricken all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has slipped from Grade A to C in the list. Because, Pandya has been out of the Indian team since the ICC T20 World Cup 2019, where he has only played as a batsman and bowled very little.

On the other side, Mohammad Siraj, who has now been promoted to Group B for his stellar performances in last year, and Suryakumar Yadav, who has played the required number of games, are now in Group C.
The BCCI’s contract list has four categories. A + category with an annual salary of Rs. 7 crores, A category with an annual salary of Rs. 5 crores, and B and C sections with a value of Rs. 3 crore and 3 crores respectively.
Last time, 28 cricketers were given central contracts but this year, 27 cricketers have been included in the BCCI annual contract list 2022.
