The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced two squads for the three-match T20I series against England, retaining most of the players that toured Ireland. The BCCI has also announced a 17-member squad for the three-match ODI series.
Rohit Sharma, who was ruled out of the ongoing fifth Test against England due to COVID-19, has returned to lead the T20I and the ODI series. Also, all the first-choice players are returning to the ODI team.
Umran Malik retains his place in the T20 squad and Arshdeep Singh gets his first ODI call:
Umran Malik, who made his international debut in the second T20 against Ireland, will be part of the T20 series. Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh, who did not get a game in the series, has got his first ODI call-up and will be part of the first T20 squad.
Sanju Samson, Rahul Tripathi, Venkatesh Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Arshdeep Singh will only be part of the first T20 squad as they have been dropped from the second and third T20 squads.
On the other hand, senior opener Shikhar Dhawan has been included in the squad for the three-match ODI series.

BCCI has rested some senior players for the 1st T20I:
The first T20 will start in Southampton just two days after the rescheduled Test ends on July 5, so BCCI has rested Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rishabh Pant who are part of the Test squad.
KL Rahul is currently recovering from a groin injury, so he has been dropped from all the squads. Also, Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, and Washington Sundar have been dropped from the England series due to injuries.
