BCCI Announce Squad For The T20 Series Against West Indies, No Virat Kohli in The Squad

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced the the squad on thrusday for the upcoming five-match T20 series against the West Indies.

Although Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are not in the team, Rohit Sharma will lead the team. News agency PTI reported that both Kohli and Bumrah have been rested for the series.

KL Rahul has returned to the team after being ruled out due to injury last month. But his inclusion is subject to fitness. Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has also been called up, while leg-spinner Yuzbendra Chahal has been rested.

Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Ishan Kishan are part of the T20 squad for the upcoming series against West Indies.

Kuldeep Yadav has also been included in the squad, but his inclusion is also subject to fitness. Umran Malik was not included in the squad. However, although Umran is not in the team, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has been kept in the team.

Earlier, the squad for the ODI series against the West Indies was announced and Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and Jaspreet Bumrah were rested. Experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team in ODIs.

The five-match T20I series against the West Indies will begin on July 29. The T20Is will be preceded by a three-match ODI series, starting on July 22.
